Avoiding Non-Pay Cancellations

Insurance companies are famous for over-communicating…especially when it comes to billing. Most carriers send reminder emails, text alerts, and even mail out invoices to customers, letting them know it’s time to pay their premiums.  It is important to read those texts and emails, especially since almost everyone is attached to their cell phones.
It is equally important to regularly check your mailbox as well.
CONSEQUENCES OF NON-PAY CANCELLATIONS
Loss of coverage: You will not be covered by your insurance if a claim occurs after the cancellation date.
Difficulty getting new insurance: You may have to pay higher premiums or face stricter requirements to get new insurance.
Impact on credit score: A cancellation can negatively affect your credit score, if sent to Collections.
Legal penalties: Driving without insurance can lead to hefty fines and license suspension.
