Winter weather accidents, deer strikes, supply chain issues, and labor shortages have many Body shops backed-up, and unable to get vehicles in for repair for several weeks, up to a month.
If you have Rental car - Loss of Use coverage on your Auto policy, it will provide a rental car for up to 30 days. So if you are involved in an accident and your vehicle is still drivable, we recommend not getting the rental car until your car is actually in the body shop.
And since rental car rates are at the highest level they have ever been, we also recommend that our Clients increase the daily allowance on their Auto policy to at least $50 per day. This will only cause a small increase in premium, but could save a huge out-of-pocket expense in the event of an accident.
